  4.      My own personal theory is the Doctor _could_ be Rassilon.  He could
  5. have given himself a whole new set of regenerations and then wiped it from
  6. the Matrix to continue his work.  That power was hinted in "The Five
  7. Doctors" when the Master was offered "Regeneration.  A complete life cycle."
  8. Much speculation has been attached to that line.  Had they only said
  9. "regeneration" I would have agreed that he would have been given only one
  10. new life/body.  However, when the line continued "a complete life cycle"
  11. that suggests to me they were going to give him a complete set of life
  12. cycles, including the 12 regenerations.  Had this been an impossibility, as
  13. many have suggested, the Master should have know about that and seen through
  14. their ploy.  The fact that he agreed so quickly suggests that he knew that
  15. this was possible.  Maybe the 12 regeneration limitation is something
  16. imposed by Gallifreyan law to prevent "immortality", which Rassilon himself
  17. said was a curse.  That's my theory, however.
